That is a great tip, James.

I am attaching what I do in Cinema 4D and importing the result as *.obj in MOI.
And what I would obviously do in MOI, if I would know, how to :-)

In Cinema I can subdivide a basic icosahedron as shown. And there is great
cloner tool from which I diplayed its basic properties

Regarding dispersion by Max:
The recently added methods for dropping points on surfaces, and getting surface normals, etc.,
should open up some more possibilities.

In NodeEditor, you can subdivide icosahedron (2 subdivides shown) and attach cylinders to vertices:


The .nod file is attached....however you will need current NE mod nodes, found here:
