Hi Tony, I've attached a version using the method of putting in a blend curve to make a smooth path and then forming a cutting surface.
Once you put in the blend curve, then the curves are not all on the surfaces anymore and they are not planar either so they can't cut by projection well either.
But by forming an extended parting surface then the parting surface can be intersected. So in the attached versions the parting surfaces are these pieces, see how they extend out a little ways so they can cut the main body surfaces, this is a method that you can use when the shape bends around in such a manner that there is not a single 2D view that can be used to form all the cutting profiles.
So instead of 2D profiles you use a 3D surface as the cutting object. You can use 2D profiles and project them to form most of the curves to work with though.
