Any wisdom on why this surface fails to shell?

Hi Alex, it seems to be something to do with the holes, maybe since they are so small. If you select the edges for the holes and then remove them using Delete, then it looks like you can shell the surface.
I'll investigate what is going wrong with the shell with the holes, it's probably something like a tolerance targeting the main surface size is not tight enough for those edge holes since they are quite small in comparison the the full object size.

Hi Alex, also it seems that it's a combination of the holes being small and also that they're made up of several edges. If you run the Merge command on your surface that will combine them into one edge and it will shell ok after that.
I've added this case to my list to investigate after v4 is wrapped up to see if I can make the original one work.

This whole project was designed in MOI all sheetmetal parts - following a few simple rules sheetmetal is easy within MOI. I plan on putting together a workflow for sheetmetal using MOI shortly. Here are progress shots.
