Full Version: Setting Camera Position in Top/Bottom/Front/Rear/Right/Left Views

Hi,

Is there anyway to move the camera in the "2D" views?

I often would like to "push" the camera past a bunch of foreground objects to work on some objects behind them.

Currently I am selecting the foreground objects and hiding them but that is a bit of a pain.

Thanks.

If you right click on a view, it will reverse the view...if that's what you're looking for.

I don't know of a way of making an Ortho camera clip objects in Moi but if there is Michael will know.

One way I use a lot is to reverse the view of the camera front <=> back etc.
If you add this to a shortcut it is a pretty nice work flow:

script:moi.ui.mainWindow.viewpanel.reverseView( moi.ui.getActiveViewport().name );

Thank you.

Is your suggestion different from clicking on the front/back and left/right buttons at the bottom of the MOI window?

Hi Frederick, sorry no the camera in ortho views is always positioned outside all objects. There isn't currently any way to move it forward so that it would be in the middle of everything unlike the 3D view.

In the future I do want to work on clipping plane functionality to do that kind of stuff.

Hi,

OK that is what I needed to know.

You mentioned a "clipping plane" and that is what I was thinking of.

Thanks.
