Full Version: MoI Student Licences

I was wondering if you, Michael, offer student licenses for MoI, like in a classroom environment?

I found a site online that sells MoI student licenses, but I'd rather see more money go to the developer.

This is not a for sure thing though. My son is starting high school next year and this place is like a mini-university with 3d printers, cnc machines, electronics, etc. They've even got a 3-year robotics course that rivals some colleges. Anyway, they use AutoCAD for their fabrication and prototyping. I was hoping to approach them about MoI, but I wanted to know what they would have to do and the costs involved in order to purchase it. I think their computer lab is about 30 stations or so.

I used to teach some small college courses and when I see what they're doing and what MoI does, it's a no brainer. I want the best for my son! ;-)

Hi Cody, yeah so for an individual student license those can be ordered through Studica http://studica.com/moi3d or Novedge. That involves verification of student status like sending in a picture of your son's student ID card. I don't handle those orders myself directly so that I don't have to be reviewing that additional stuff all the time.

For putting it on a lab setting I can make a custom bundle for that so they can contact me directly for that type of thing.

Thanks,
- Michael

Perfect. The lab bundle is exactly what I expect they would be looking for. I'll let the school know.

Can't promise anything, but your software is just so easy to use and powerful that it would be a shame if the kids didn't get to experience it.

Thanks for the quick response.

If nothing else, I'll make sure my son has his own copy so he can be more productive. He'll be modelling circles around those other kids. ;-)

Just FYI, Michael.

The Studica site doesn't seem to offer MoI. The Novedge site does though, so thank you. The only other student pricing site I found was Cadwax in the UK, but Novedge is the one I'll eventually use.

Hi Cody, MoI should be offered by Studica at this link here: http://studica.com/moi3d .

You should also be able to find it by going to the main Studica page at http://studica.com under the category: Software > Animation & Modeling > 3D & Solid Modeling > Moment of Inspiration 3.0 .

Ah, I figured out what's going on. I live in Canada and your software is not listed in the Canadian version of their site (https://www.studica.com/ca/en/software/graphics/3D-Modeling-Software.html).

In the top right corner, you can change the country. If I choose US (https://www.studica.com/us/en/software/graphics/3D-Modeling-Software.html), your software shows up. Not sure if I can buy it with my Canadian address in the purchase information though.

Anyway, that's the reason I didn't see it. If it's a mistake on their end, I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Hi Cody, thanks for figuring that out, I have e-mailed Studica Canada to ask if they need to do something to enable it there.
