Hi all,
what i don't quite understand with brining in an .stl model and the request for .stl import,
why don't people use not the free Meshlab and import there the .stl and save as .obj?
Meshlab is such a well known software in 3D circles.
Regards
Stefan

I was not able to get the script to run. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi MichaelT, it looks like you've got it set up ok there. What folder have you placed those 2 files "_STLimport.htm" and "_STLimport.js" into though?

Mmmh,
seems to be the right place for _STLimport.htm and _STLimport.js...
FOR MOI V4 BETA FEB-09-2018
What happens if you write _STLimport into the console?

Tried that too. Nothing. No error, just nothing happens.

Hi Michael,
i am on Mac and i never tested the script on Win...
But if there would be a problem on Windows at least you shoud get an error..
If you are using the latest V4beta Feb-09 Version it should work with this command folder at AppData..
What happens if you put the two files into the original commands folder?

Hi Ralf, I've tried that as well, but still nothing.
From: r2d3
Just installed V4 on my Windows laptop and tested _STLimport script..
No problems it works...
Perhaps the download of the script files was not proper...
No more ideas why its not working for you... :-(

That's my suspicion as well. I just recently got a Windows 10 OS. I was able to download the .js file okay, but the .htm file just opened in another window, so I did a drag and drop onto my desktop and copied it from there. You wouldn't happen to have a zipped of it?
From: r2d3
Perhaps there is the problem..
Here is a zip

Thanks Ralf! That solved that problem. I'm getting some errors when I try it. See pics.
Any ideas? I tried the same 4 files in v3 and v4. Largest 5.8M and smallest 15KB. Some exported fro MoI and one from NX.
Thanks again for all your help!

Hi Michael,
yes i saw this also for the first time when i testet in Windows "0 Triangles imported".
But than i opened an other stl and it works...
Must be something with different STLs - the one was from Moi3 and the good from V4 ...
Will have a look at it...
Ahhh, found it!
the bad was a binary STL this script only deals with Asci STLs!
From: r2d3
used a online converter to asci and the bad file worked..
