Which file format can a save a file in for laser cutting machines?

I would ask your laser cutter what they prefer but .dxf is what I have used the most in the past.

Usually either .dxf or .pdf formats, they will be expecting to receive 2D geometry for a laser cutter.

But as Shane writes above it's a good idea to ask them what they usually work with.
