just saw that Blender 2.79 is available and the new features look really nice.

Yep, another fine Blender release. Blender is part of my 3D software top 3, alongside MoI and ZBrush.

I really admire the motivation, efficiency and success of the open source project. And it makes me a little bit extra proud that it's from the Netherlands, and the very first Blender development started on my old computer love: the Commodore Amiga. :)
