Regarding the YouTube link, 9 to 1 reducer:
The Marsala curve was done using the epitrochoid script. It is rotated 20 degrees from the YouTube line curve.
Its offset is the same curve as results from the epicycloid(reducer) script.

Hello Brian,

really cool stuff! You show the possibilities of the nodeeditor in an ellegant way!

Thanks for sharing!

Have a nice day

Hi bemfarmer,

Thank you very much for your math experiments!

They're all very interesting!

Nice day,

Marco (mkdm).

Updated epicycloid speed reducer .nod file to work with Nodeeditor version 0.95.
Added the frequency input to Quartz, and adjusted the frequency (speed) setting downwards considerably.
Looks pretty smooth at a low RPM, and a jitterbug at higher RPM :-)
The output shaft is missing, not to mention bearings...

Had to redo the 4 math nodes, went from blue wires to teal blue wires. (The prior node had 14 downloads.)

Hi, Brian.

Not quite working properly for me - lots of clashing of parts.
No time to explore further for a while so will report back later.

Mike.

Hi Mike,
yeah, something is out of whack.
It was working perfectly, but when saved, it must be "out of phase."

OK, here is the .zip file of the corrected .3dm of the gear, along with the .nod.
When I saved the .3dm from MoI, after having run and stopped the .nod,
the .3dm of the gear was not in its starting position.
Lesson learned.

Thanks, Brian.
Mesmerising and wonderful.
