Hi Michael,

I have use a simple cube for test the plugin, so it has four edge.

I have try also a cube created in moi, but the result is the same

Hi gara, over here I'm not able to reproduce any problem using a cube drawn in MoI.

What error message are you seeing?

I don't know if I attach the image in the right way, but the error is this

Hi gara, are you possibly running an older version of the script? Try getting the latest one named Subdiv_beta9.zip from here: http://moi.maxsm.net/media/files/ .

Also what version of MoI are you running it with?

With this new version works perfectly.

There is a way to check the tangency and curvature?

Hi gara, MoI does not really have any tangency or curvature analysis tools currently, it's not a focus area for MoI.

But if you turn on metallic lighting and set some specular highlights on under Options > View > "Lighting options", you can look at the reflective highlights to see any major breaks.

The CCC script shows some curvature lines and radii, for curves.

Thanks bemfarmer, but this plugin does not work with the subdivision surface

CCC will work for curves obtained from a surface.
The curve can be an isocurve from a surface, or a curve copied from an edge.

Hi Brian, one thing to be careful about is a curve on a surface can have very different curvature properties than the surface itself.

Like for example, here's a planar surface that has curvy isoparms and edges:

Hi,

I just successfully converted a retopologized ZBrush mesh to a solid thanks to ImportObj and Subdiv. Brilliant work, Max, many thanks!

Any chance of continued Subdiv development, like triangle subdivision optimization? It would be fantastic if you could make a smoothly subdivided solid from a triangulated, decimated mesh, like the output of Zbrush Decimation Master or Blender's Decimate modifier.

Thanks again,

P.S.: A tip: if your mesh is fully symmetrical, import and subdivide half the mesh into MoI, then mirror and join to a solid. It will save quite some calculation time, and enable you to import larger meshes with more polygons.

Not essential but...

Hi I cannot get this script to run for the life of me I'm on windows 10 is there something I missing on the install? Goes into commands right for the SubDivbeta9?

Hi Dave, there are some instructions on how to install plug-ins here:
http://moi3d.com/faq#Q:_How_do_I_install_a_plug-in_script.3F

Some things to look out for - make sure you have unzipped it, you need to copy the contents of the .zip file into the commands folder, not the .zip file itself.

Then to trigger it set up a shortcut key with _Subdiv_beta9 as the command name.

don't forget the first "_" at the beginning of the name! ;)
you can have any upper or lower letters but not space in the name!
_subdiv_Beta9
_subdiv_beta9
_SUBDIV_beTa9
will work :)
