SAMARDAC METHOD for 3D Artists!

During my experience with MOI, I found the original path to work, that allows to 3D artist use MOI in very fun and effective way.

Example of models that was made using this method:

Thanks for collecting these in one place, Andrei!

I've added a link to your post here on the Tutorials section of the wiki.

No problem Michael.

One thing wont to mention about this method.
If you are make model by using blueprints for 100% precis modeling for father industrial manufacturing, this method like any other organic methods is not 100% precise.
But if you make models for Render, Concept Art, Sketching or any other purpose where no need for perfect precision this method works great!

Slowly but my method finds its shape.

These are the basics! It is some kind of core that must be seen if you want to work my way. It' is not for CAD users it is for 3D Artists.
We will explore Revolve, Rail Revolve and LOFT.

Advantages:

1. Allow to build organic and hard surface stuff.

2. Create simple topology with one surface and one seam.

3. Practically no need to fillet (no pain any more)

4. Dynamic updates

5. A very little amount of edges. It allow to save great amount of PC power.

Disadvantage.

Not good for precise CAD modelling.

Thanks for posting these Andrei.

I've download most of them, just need to find time watch them. I'm sure when I do, I will pick up some very handy tips which will speed up my workflow and give me cleaner, smoother results.

Thanks for making your "Basics" tutorial Andrei.

I will certainly look at Rail Revolve in a new way!

I also need to re-think my use of Fillets and keep them to a minimum.

Thanks for your tutorials Andrei.

You give a lot of helpfull and detailed information.

About your video Blend method (Moi 3D Blend), I have a question:

After 50 seconds the 15 cv points are shown.

One second later the cv points are still there but repositioned while the form is still unchanged.

I try to do the same to check this method, but I do not succeed.

Can you tell me how you do that?

You have to use this comand: ShrinkTrimmedSrf. It will shrink surface to it's size.

Aah,

So simple.

I keep on learning everyday!

Thanks Andrei.

I can tell you more, may be you do not know, If you delete all edges of trimed surface before you aplly that shrink comand you can restore all surface! This way you can also remove holes in surfaces.

Hi Andrei,

I was not aware of that.

Thanks again!
