Each different part of object you modelise has a different automatic name in the tree, so you can access at any of them at any time! ;)
In different modes!

Looks like ti is immposible in sculpt mode there is no any other object in tree except sculpted. Or i'm wrong?

Seems you have not understood the power of the history line! ;)
And yes in this program there are different sections of Modeling for create objects following the method of creation!

And if you want also this sphere or/and or the Box BRep in Sculpt Mode just convert them -->to TSPline! etc..

In Model /Create/Create Form : a new icon form is created on the History line
so you can have again the Sculpt Mode and access Modify / Convert and Select the Sphere or / and the Box !
You can make a selection multiple by rectangle selection for avoid to click on each object! ;

This image above is the result of the BRep Objects selection!
So you can have any number of objects in The Scupt Mode (and the tree )

Double click on the Icon form on the History line for enter in the Sculpt Mode
Each mode has its own tree!

Thanks for the update Pilou.

I didn't realize Fusion 360 had CAM features built in - I'll have to investigate it for my machining projects.

The site says the design does not even need to originate in Fusion. That could open a lot of possibilities.

I would just hate to add another software subscription to my budget though :(

I should switch over to Fusion (for some projects). :-D

Hi everyone,

After testing more deeply T-Spline within Fusion 360, I decided to include it into my current workflow,
when I need to convert Low Poly Quads into Nurbs object.

I will use "convert" feature of T-Spline, inside the "Sculpt" room in Fusion, in order to obtain a Nurbs object,
with a fewer number of patches compared to what we can actually get with (always very good) Max's SubDiv.

Nice day,

I have to say that I'm starting to appreciate Fusion too.
It's extremely powerful to have Tspline (SDS Modeling) and Nurbs working together in one environment.

Wish we could exchange data between MoI and Fusion using clipboard copy/paste :)

Hi Pilou,

I thank you for the persistent invitation to use fusion 360 :):)

Its "zero-cost T-Splines" is a perfect companion for Moi!

Best,

- Marco (mkdm)

Maybe the "zero cost" will be for 3 years, but in 3 years there were another marvelous things! ;)
(in any case for the moment i can use it free since 2 years)

Hi,

I've just installed Fusion 360, hoping to use it for some tough fillet cases.

What is your usual export/import workflow between MoI and Fusion?

Which NURBS format is the best for interchanges between MoI and Fusion?

Thanks!

Forget it, I've already deinstalled it again. :)

Reason 1: the UI / workflow frustrated me too much. It took me more than 15 minutes to find out how to select an edge loop around a face.

Reason 2: the fillet capacities disappointed me. I expected at least ViaCAD quality fillet calculations of difficult situations, but no success.

Hi,

Did anyone ever tried to import curves created in Moi3D into Fusion360...and do it successfully?

I am trying something and have more complex curves patterns created in Moi3D i was using before and now i want to try in Fusion360 but i just can't make it work. I managed to import something in Fusion but it seems like it doesn't import the entire curve pattern but instead just some random parts.

Thanks.

Hi klaudio, what file formats did you try? MoI can export 3D curves to 3DM, STEP, IGES, SAT, and DXF file formats.

Hi Michael,

I know Moi can export in wide range of formats but it seems like when you want to import curve data into Fusion 360 then the only supported formats are DXF and DWG...so i have tried DXF but i just cound not make it work properly. I am sure everything is perfectly fine on Moi side so it is obviously something on how Fusion reads that data and i am trying to figure out why it happens.

Hi klaudio, can you please post the .dxf file so I can take a look and make sure it's ok?

That is weird how some curves seem to be going over but not others. Is it possible that some are on different z levels instead of z = 0 ?

Looking at it a bit more is it not reading curves made up of all line segments? MoI does export those as a POLYLINE entity instead of a SPLINE entity. Maybe it's not reading POLYLINE entities from the .dxf file although that seems like a strange thing to do.

One thing you could try would be to use Edit > Separate and then do the export - that will then make individual LINE entities which maybe it will like better.

Another thing is you can try turning off writing simple entities, that's in moi.ini under [DXF Export] UseSimpleEntities=y , if that is set which is the default, then MoI will write a curve as a LINE, CIRCLE, ARC, or POLYLINE entity when possible to do so rather than as a SPLINE entity.
