Holy smokes! This Blender addon (Mesh Machine) video is the closest thing to NURBS with Polys.

And check out this one-- not only is interesting watching the form create, but then watching it deconstruct at the end!

Blender continues to amaze..

Hi Chipp,

Blender offers more interesting hard-surface add-ons (some free, some paid but very affordable). Here are a few, from the top of my head:

Boxcutter & Hardops:

Fast Carve:

Carver MT (ships along with Blender, you just need to activate the add-on):

Combined with (auto-)retopology in 3D-Coat or ZBrush, the possibilities are virtually endless.

Great stuff Chipp!!

...but (for me) as long as I can..I think that the best and easiest way to create hard-surface things is with Moi.
Its Nurbs modelling tools are so powerful for that kind of stuff.

Anyway...As you said in one of your latest tutorial on your YouTube channel (that I'm following), Blender has a very bright future. Great product!

3D-Coat is a piece of cake! :)
Only 6 years ago it would have been impossible to have a product like that (and under 400USD!!!)

Hi Metin,

Thanks for sharing. The guy who created Hard Ops works with me on the Alamo project and has been trying to get me to use it for some time. It's quite powerful. I want to get the basics out of the way first.

Here's helped me with Blender and I've helped him with Moi3d.

Hi Pilou and all,

maybe interesting for you... It is possible to load .obj meshes into MagicalVoxel,
when converting .obj to .off and then use these two converters* from here:

http://dgtal.org/doc/tools/nightly/converters.html#converters

first run the .off file through mesh2vol and then through vol2vox.

However, in order to use these converters you need to compile the DGtal
library and also the DGtalTools.

it's not more easy with Goxel?
http://guillaumechereau.github.io/goxel/

Magicavoxel-->Goxel

or even if you want only render you have the free Simlab Composer Lite (works with any 3D format files! :)
who has a Voxel function! :) (Maxi 1920*1040) (you can only save in proprietary format! )

Hi Pilou,

i don't know, can you import with Goxel .obj and export to MagicalVoxel?
