Here's another bottle modelled in MOI. I find myself often thinking.....why use bump/displacement maps to model certain areas when I can just model it in MOI.

Yeah for some kinds of regular patterns like grooves, it can make for a kind of sharper better look when they are actually modeled.
But texture mapping when possible can be a lot easier and save a lot of time.
I think in this case you've got just the right balance between modeled groove details and texture mapped surface bumps.

Hi Pilou,
That...hmm......some little knob on the bottle I assume to help keep the cap from turning off (cause you never know when spontaneous cap removal can occur :P). Actually I can't say really, seems some production designer had a thing for little knobs that serve no purpose. :)Reply
