Full Version: Detailed model of M4 Sherman tank

Hi guys.

Enclosed are some images of a Sherman tank modelled in MOI. The model is based on a superb polygon modelling tutorial by David Mitchell on SimplyLightwave.com but was completely modelled in MOI.

The final model contained approx. 6000 objects and had to be exported as 3 separate obj. files as I ran out of memory when I tried to export it as a complete object. The separate files were then re-assembled in Vue 8 to give a final quick render.

As usual MOI never crashed once during the weeks of modelling although I did have some problems with fillets and occasionally booleans. I learned to keep a close eye on the Properties box to help me in solving problems.

Hope you like it.

Cheers
Mal

Awesome detail! Looks like you enjoyed making it a lot.
Now... what are you going to model next?

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Lemo, I've admired your work for some time in the ZBrush forums.

It's certainly a pleasure to use MOI and, even though I have a number of 3d programs, I still produce most of my models with MOI.

Have a number of other projects on the go at the moment to keep me busy. Hopefully some of these will be suitable for display when finished.

Thanks again for viewing the model.

Cheers
Mal

Exceptional work Mal!

I have no doubt that your current projects will be more than display worthy.
