I've always liked using Moi but don't get to use it often as (like most of us) my modelling is mainly SubD. I had a Jerry Can I had to build for a still today which I had built as SubD but then had to add some caplsule shaped indents to it. It would be a nightmare in a standard SubD workflow but I thought I'd try Moi's new SubD import function and it was amazing, half an hour's noodling and I was done. The SubD to Nurbs conversion is miraculous, thank you MIchael.
SubD model
I made the capsules in Moi and offset them to trim a larger shape out of the jerry can. Then I offset the jerry can inwards to trim the capsules shy of the surface. Then blended between the edges to get a nice bevelled edge with ease
I put Moi's excellent mesh export back into C4d to test render for any surface irregukarities

That's great Rich, I'm glad you were able to make use of the hybrid SubD/CAD workflow!

Thanks a lot. Amazingly out of date like most websites but thank you anyway!

Super hero baby is some cute! :)

That was a funny one. Advertising Standards rejected the original finished shot because the baby was just going to be laid on a cloth backdrop but they said being face down was a cot death risk! So we had to bring his mum back into the shot even though she'd only been there to make the baby comfortable.
