Hi Shanye, for the text on the top flat part of the ring you could use a 2D illustration program to help out, many of those can put text that follows along a curve. Then export to AI or PDF format and bring that into MoI.

One that can work well for that is Creature House Expression 3 which is still available for free from here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/5/d/a5d625a5-2e3d-4e9c-8608-6de48d7b569f/CreatureHouseExpression3_3.exe

So for example in Expression I created something like this:

Then I exported the attached 2d_text_example.ai file which can be imported into MoI, and then extruded into a solid:

Thanks very much , I will try that way
Text on inside surfaces may take some practice
I know in rhino you can draw it on a flat surface or strip then bend it up into a ring
cheers

Hi Shayne,

Yup, that's one of the areas where Rhino can be very useful - there was a set of deformation tools added in to Rhino v4 that can do those kinds of things.

I want to work on adding those functions into MoI as well, but for right now you may want to use Rhino along side of MoI to do those particular operations.
