If Michael could have MoI get up and get me a beer every hour and a half or so...This would be nice and fit into the easy modeling tools category....:o

But where would you put beer in the UI Burr?

What if someone preferred a scotch or rum? And Mixers, where would you put the mixers?

... it's a minefield.

Hi

I need a ruler in order to control some distances...and a goniometer for angles...

Hi Fil, just a quick note on this:

> I need a ruler in order to control some distances..

Currently you can draw a line to find the distance between 2 points - while you are drawing the line look at the distance readout in the bottom toolbar, here:

Also once you have drawn a line you can select it and the length of it is displayed here:

There's also a plugin command that you can install to get a "Distance" command as well:

Hi Michael,

Yes, but if I draw a line in order to control the distance between two points, at the end I've a line that not use...
Now I'll see the plugin.
Thank

Hi Fil, you don't need to complete the line, just watch the distance readout in the bottom while you are drawing it and then instead of clicking the 2nd point to finish the line just hit the Escape key or push the Cancel button to cancel drawing the line.

That way you are not left with any extra line.

You may like the plugin though.

Hi Michael, obvious! Why did not I think the first. I've installed the plugin now. It's what I was looking for.

Thank

Hello everyone,

I vote for the improvement groups, and parents. I have in general more than 60 objects in view, the management gives me a headache. Fluidity in the refesh list of objects. Accelerating the display would be a plus. I see the difference, for example with modo, the interface is very fluid.
Multi-threaded operations for large cpus.

Thank you very much.

FBX export with materials assigned is one thing I would like to see.

My vote is for text wrap around curved solids (as opposed to projection which causes distortion), for the purpose of creating recessed text.

A Cutting Plane would help in Model inspection in many areas......And the beer thing.

My top 3 for the future, not necessarily V3 are:

1.)Grouping
2.)deformable nurbs like here http://www.integrityware.com/News/PressReleases/IWPress_2_13_10_01.html
3.)manipulation of faces edges

From an engineering standpoint, I'd like to be able to set the scale of my drawing vs. its real world counterpart.

Back in the old days when I made 2D CAD drawings, I would set the "sheet scale" to 1:48 or 1:64 or whatever I needed. I could enter the dimensions for a box measuring 6' by 8' and the software would create a box the *scale equivalent* of a 6'x8' box. It was a very handy feature. I'd love to be able to toggle between 1:1 and some arbitrary scale as needed.

Just a thought.

My wishlist:

1) Groups
2) Filleting improvements to make it friendlier to inexperienced users (e.g. feedback as to what went wrong when it didn't succeed)
3) Would like to be able to wrap text rounds solids easily

Mine:

1. Groups
2. Instances
3. Supported API with easy external interfaces for parametrics
4. Multiple monitor support
5. Constraints, at least for 2D drawing

None of these, I know, are surprises.

Couple more from me:

Bend tool or bend deformer

Deform to curve deformer

In both cases it's often best to model something straight then bend it once finished.

And if you want to go the whole hog then add bulge, twist, taper and cage deformers.

Add vote for all tools visible at once. Be nice to be able to have them on my second monitor as well.

Great list so far!!

Here's mine::

-Transform object to follow along a curve.
-2d Flattening of a 3d object.
-Variable width fillet.
-Improved Blend.
-That-Astounding-tool-that-only-the-author-of-this-software-can-imagine.

I would like Instances but only if it's relatively easy to implement as I rather see improvement in modeling.

Marc
