This software is cool until you dont work with textures(UVW map is very weak). and a lot things are missed. I think it is for only production rendering only...

I think it works for that price!

I'm extremely happy with my purchase too. If all it did was import different formats, copy models and allow me to position them before rendering I would still be happy. I love the renderer, and the license policy is a lot less of a hassle than my vray rhino license. It's also much easier to set up than vray. I just looked at it as a low cost high quality renderer. Everything else is extra.

Hello All,
thanks to this forum, I found what I needed for my rendering.
Was considering Keyshot, but $995 and only on one machine did not like those parts.
Simlab composer is great and did not have any problem importing from MOI. and easy to use, as I am not a computer guy.
attached is my first rendering with Simlab composer...will probably find its way through....
....anyway, of course, to me, the crown jewel is MOI.

Michael,
I am ready for V2.
Best,
Rudy

Rudy, I like the ring. It has just a touch of a retro art deco-ish kind of thing. It feels very masculine to me. I don't think it will work for a woman. Maybe it's just the angle though? Is it a man's ring?

Great render, Rudy, I'm glad that you've finally found a rendering app that fits your needs and saved you a bunch of cash too!

Plus you get the PDF export which is great for delivering to clients etc.

Rudy,

Very nice! I was unsure about SimsLab Composer for jewelry
renderings until I saw your ring.

Hello all,
thank you.
Yes, simlab is great and very easy...it is my first attempt and haver to say it was pretty straight forward.
It is a man's ring.
Best,
Rudy

Hi Rudy,

Nice job on the design & render, Well done!!
Glad to hear you've found the SimLab Composer so easy to use with your first go, Congrats!!

I also considered buying this SimLab Composer...but I've already invested in V-Ray for Rhino, so couldn't see any real advantage to me.

regards Colin

No, it's not bad at all :) . That is some smooth modeling. Is it a nurbs or poly model?

The Simlab guys have just enabled the alpha output for Composer 2.1 (free upgrade, actually they said on the forum that all 2.x versions will be free upgrades). Not available for download yet but looks like it will be soon.

They've also enabled ground shadow toggle and ground reflection.

I'm pretty impressed with Simlab's support and I'm very happy I purchased Composer.

Hi Danny,

It's looking to me like we might end up with at least some of the stuff that was/is available in Hypershot/Keyshot.

Ralf, as you have Hypershot & Simlab, I'd love to know what features the two 'Shots' have that Simlab Composer currently doesn't. I wonder what other goodies are in store.

Thanks also for letting us know about Composer. I'm glad I didn't miss out on this bargain.

It is the Luxion render engine so we might see more stuff being implemented that's in HS/KS, I can't see why not, the latest update features are just the beginning, I think.

.......and yes, thanks again Ralf for sharing this find.

Cheers

Hi Ralf,
I'm Filippo and I'm new here in the forum. Perhaps you can help me.
I try to use simlab composer demo, but it doesn't make the render because it's a demo version.
I don't find the way in order to test the program, to see the result of a my a project without buy it.
I have seen that is possibile to recive a demo licence with 10 save. I try to make it through the license dialog inside the help menù of the program. But nothing is happened.
How can I do it?
I'm very interested to Simlab composer and I'll be afraid to lose the current offert.

Thank Filippo.
