Hi Mala, there is an Isolate function available by right clicking on the Edit > Hide button in the side pane that will do that.
Isolate will keep just the selected objects visible and hide all unselected objects.
It maintains a memory of what the object visibility was before the isolate and when you run Isolate a second time, everything will be restored to its pre-Isolate state.
If you wish to set it up on a keyboard shortcut put this in for the Command part of the shortcut key:
script: moi.geometryDatabase.isolate();

Hi Michael,
"""""""""""It maintains a memory of what the object visibility was before the isolate and when you run Isolate a second time, everything will be restored to its pre-Isolate state.""""
Hopefully I am not overly confused, but I am not good at tracing logic
Make a few items. 5 or 6.
select 2 and right click to isolate
Deselect everything and left click hide button to bring all objects back
THIS: "Right click Isolate now requires 2 clicks?"
Can you verify THIS?

Hi Burr, when you trigger an isolate it will retain a memory of the hidden state of everything and when you trigger it a second time it will restore things back to their pre-isolate state.
It does not prevent you from doing other things to hide objects though, like you are doing here with the left click on hide.
But if you are using isolate, instead of doing your step #3 "Deselect everything and left click hide button to bring all objects back" you would want to right click on it to trigger the second isolate.
re:
> THIS: "Right click Isolate now requires 2 clicks?"
The first right click here is the 2nd time you've triggered isolate so it does the "restore to pre-isolate state" which won't have any visible effect since you've already shown objects with the left click on the hide button.
Let me know if it's still not making sense.
