For some reason I can't add an image, sorry.
I drew a rectangle, added an arc to one side. Trimmed the rectangle so three sides are straight and at right angles to each other, deleting the 4th side (where the arc is). Joined the three parts of the rectangle to the arc so I have a closed curve (verified by Moi info in upper right corner).
When I select the closed curve and extrude it, it extrudes as a rectangular solid, it ignores the arc. What's going on?

Maybe like this
Draw Rectangle
Draw Arc
Select All
Separate (in fact only rectangle)
Erase one Curve
Select All (no need to Join)
Extrude
Erase / Hide ... start curves if you want only alone Solid (not shown on the video)

Never mind. The curve I drew was a tiny bit out of plane, so I didn't see it. Making the curve planar to the rest of the rectangle works fine in extrusion.

Delete my second post--I went to front view, redrew the shape, and it still has the problem.
Frenchy, your method works fine. The difference is using separate instead of trim. I must be leaving some bit of rectangle nature.
Thanks!

This is really odd. Sometimes it works, sometimes it ignores the arc. I'll have to poke at it awhile, I must be doing something different when it works.

Hi sos, if you get another case where it's not working as expected please post the .3dm model file here or e-mail to
moi@moi3d.com so I can take a look at it.
Thanks, - Michael

My problem posting images is Firefox. There, when composing a reply I only have three buttons: Post Preview Cancel.
I have switched to Vivaldi, where I also have the Attachements button. Someday soon I'm giving up on Firefox.
I did a set of different radius curves (attached). For shallow curves, the curve is ignored. Deeper curves and I get a straight approximation to the curve (in the solid). 3dm attached.

That's likely a display mesh approximation limitation, if you export it (with a forced divided larger than at 2 or less), those arcs seems correctly evaluated.
You can change the mesh angle display in the display option, but even with a tiny angle it wont be as good as the mesh export.

Also if you want a more accurate display, you can maybe rebuild the arc (rebuild command here with 10 points), that should trick the mesher.
(I'm not sure if you still have a perfect math arc doing so ?)

Hi sos, yes like PaQ writes above that's just a display artifact. It's best to just ignore it.

This makes tons of sense. Thank you.

Hi sos,
I have been a Firefox user and member of the Moi3D forum for many years. I have never encountered any problems when communicating, or when sending images or files as attachments. I therefore don't think the problem is with Firefox.
