hi michael liking the look of this! will download soon....just wondering as there was a bit of talk about holes...could you consider the concept of a "master hole" whereby if a hole object created or duplicated a user can later on change the single master hole diameter to change all such hole sizes...in coreldraw this is done with "clone" command but ot needs a bit too much discipline to remember always to duplicate the clone hole, nonetheless its really useful in certain instances, not really parametric but very simple and very useful; espescially as a lot of times in simple sheet metal or planar work changing fixings types often mean changing hole sizes all over again and again - with even 10 holes or 100# that can be very tedious work..im thinking the object manager "master object" could maybe be used to acheive this in a creative way?

Hi stefano,

One method that could work for this already within current capabilities would be to assign a name to the hole's face or edge object.

After the name has been set there will be an entry for it in the "Objects" section of the Scene Browser and you can go there to select all of the hole geometry with one click.

One issue that could complicate that is that when an object is contained inside of a group the name only shows up as a child of the group instead of showing at the top level. Maybe that could be solved by having an option that you could set on objects for having the name appear at the top level or inside of the parent group...

hi michael yes was thinking along those lines; as i saw some holes in the above thread (already extruded and part of a solid being moved around). i iwas curious if theres some smart way to make punched out or pass through holes all change size quickly in a click or two, eg could this also work with holes in sheet metal. typical example change all 5mm pass through holes in 3mm aluminium sheet to 5.3mm. i dont relly want to have to select all the indicidual holes just select the "named object" change the radius / diameter and maybe the object type name to "hole 5.3mm" and they all change...fyi: just back from a trip and not in work mode or front of pc with your new beta installed.

How to add code in MOI3D to run batch files (.bat) in WIN10?

Hi feirui445,

re:

You can set up a shortcut key that will launch a batch file when the key is pressed, is that what you want?

Put this as the "Command" part of the shortcut key (note use additional backslash \ because that is the escape character in javascript):

script: moi.filesystem.shellExecute( 'c:\\scripts\\test.bat' );

Hi,
i tried to install the new beta on my MacBook pro (Core i9, 2015) with Sonoma (14.7.2). But when i run the terminal and type in the password: No success.
Only a password character appears, but no cursor. I have no way of entering a password. I tried entering my password, and I tried copying and pasting it. But nothing worked. Does anyone know what's going on?

Oh man, I'm such an idiot! I entered my MOI license code instead of my device password. Now it works. Sorry for my unnecessary post.

Best regards
Wolfgang
