Beautiful !
Edit :
I remember that I made something similar to this.

Thanks, Elang.
I checked out “japanese-tea-tim-1” on GrabCAD: the materials and texture are really well done (awesome).
I can see I've got a lot of room for improvement, so I won't be bored.

Hello everyone,
I've made some improvements to the Blender rendering by importing some new objects, four of which I created myself using MoI3D.
There are still a few problems to be solved...

Hi everyone,
That's it, I've finished my Goban. 366 solids.
All that's left to do is import it into the Blender scene I created earlier, texture the different elements, and render it.
I've discovered some new techniques and tips; MoI3D is really well designed, and the more I use it, the more I enjoy designing with it.
What's more, I think Blender/MoI3D is a fantastic and really powerful combination.
Below is a very interesting video on how to make a Goban, which helped me a lot in the design of my goban.

Very cool!
After you must display the drawing of lines wood face sections (each nature of drawing give a name style of the Goban)

Sorry, but I don't understand what you're suggesting!!?

Look the different sort of faces depending where the wood was trimed!

etc... each drawing is a familly style!
But i don't know if you can apply textures on your image...

Hi,
That's what I explained in my previous post:
"All that's left to do is import it into the Blender scene I created earlier, texture the different elements, and render it."
@Pilou: "each drawing is a familly style! ".
These are not drawings, but the natural growth rings of the tree. Kaya is the traditional wood used to make gobans. This wood is rare and comes from trees that are several centuries old. Nowadays, beech wood is used, which is less expensive and more readily available.
@Pilou: " i don't know if you can apply textures on your image".
In Blender, textures are not applied to images, but to 3D objects.
There are several techniques for texturing a scene and/or objects in Blender, including procedural textures based on nodes. Similarly, there are several techniques for modeling objects, including procedural modeling, which is also based on nodes.
The principle is similar to that of MoI3D's Node Editor, but it's much more elaborate, complex, powerful and difficult to master.

Goban
Feet aren't as easy to create as you might think!
Rendering work is still in progress.

Superbe!

Hi,
When I said that it wasn't so easy to create the goban legs (11796.17), I wasn't talking about the technical aspects of using MoI3D, but rather the difficulty of finding the right shape, the most harmonious one (like the craftsmen who carve these legs), based on images or videos.
MoI3D is easy to use, and you'll always find friendly people to help you on the forum.
What's more, if you take the time to read and study the MoI3D help documents and practice using the different tools (this is the learning phase), the creation process becomes even easier, smoother, and more enjoyable.
MoI3D is the result of a long process of reflection and extensive experience in the field of 3D modeling. Michael has given us a superb tool. Some people on the forum are familiar with his background.
It irritates me a little (but it passes quickly) when I read on the forum: “When is V5 coming out?”, “What is the release date for V5?”, etc.
Oh dear, we live in an age of immediacy: everything, right now...

A great laudatio, big thanks from my part !
Best Regards !

Hello everyone,
Here is my latest rendering with Blender 4.5. There is still room for improvement. I still have a lot to learn with Blender, but I have already learned a lot.
I have a new project in the works, in the same vein: a French apartment building. It is a multi-unit residential building that I designed with Revit in 2020. This building was constructed on the Atlantic coast. That was in my previous life!
I imported it into MoI3D (the import is perfect), and I isolated a two-level apartment that I'm going to furnish. I'm going to model as many elements as possible with MoI3D, then I'll complete it in Blender if necessary.
I will then do some renderings that I will show you. A 3D view of the isolated apartment in MoI3D is shown below.
For your information, I export my file in .fbx format and do not create groups. This way, I can find all my named elements in Blender.
