Hi Michael,
I've been working on a project using V5 and a couple of things have come up.
One is related to groups so is clearly a V5 thing.
The other is likely a imported step file thing.
#1
On more than one occasion I have done something and created an entire copy of a group.
It has not been intentional and I have not figured out what I was doing. It would have been an attempt to do something "ordinary" but that somehow went wonky and created the copy.
Any idea what I might have done?
#2
When I move the mouse cursor over the large cyan object a bunch of yellow bits appear that are part of the object from the imported step file.
Just these yellow bits appear but no other parts of the imported object.
Why does this happen?
Thanks much for the ongoing education.
Frederick

Hi Frederick,
re:

Hmmm, well Ctrl+drag on an object will drag away a copy of an object is that possible?

The yellow bits are a "preselection halo" that shows when curves are going to be selected if you clicked.
It looks like this in the more regular situation when you move your mouse over a curve:
It does look a little weird when the curve is in a group and behind solids. I'm not sure what to do about that, I'll have to experiment some.
Maybe the halo part should not draw over top of everything when it's in a group.
Thanks, - Michael

Hi Michael,
Now that I know what the cause of the "yellow bits" is I went back to the original step file and imported it again into MoI.
Those bits appear to be (guessing here) left over bits of "construction lines".
They clearly not part of the the BLTouch unit.
So I simply deleted them and now have a clean model to import in the future.
Thanks to you.
Still the issue of things like that showing up when undesirable remains - something for you to ponder.
Thanks.
Frederick
