but when I try the other side, I get a strange result:

Could someone please point to where I'm going wrong?

Hi Gunter,

I test using filet on your file.
You're right if you do your filet one side and next the other side, Moi have a problem.
But if you filet both at same time, it works.

Not a solution but another way to do what you want.

Have fun...

Hey Phiro,

Just tried that and you're right it works but would still like to get to the bottom of the problem!

Also, now I'm trying to fillet the inside of the ring and the same problem is happening:

Hi Gunter,

re:

It looks like a bug in the conversion to ACIS geometry, I've added it to my list to investigate.

It looks like you can get the inside ones done for now by switching the "Library" option inside the Fillet command options to "Library: Solids++".

Thank you Michael,

Would you mind telling me how to do this - "switching the "Library" option inside the Fillet command options to "Library: Solids++".

Many thanks,
Gunter

Hi Gunter, when you're in a command the command options are shown in the upper right area of the main window.

When you're in the Fillet command (for MoI version 5) the Library option is here:

Hi Gunter

The problem was caused by your outer shape profile has a kink in it , they must be perpendicular (the inner vertical point is sitting inside the next 2 )
The 3 points that make it up on the vertical axis have to be on a straight line then the fillet will work

ps it will be easier to mirror and work on parts if you work around the origin
I have uploaded redraw
cheers
