Does anyone have a user-friendly workflow for both identifying and fixing open edges in exported STL files?
My latest exported STL file (defaults except ANGLE set to 6) exported and opened in Prusa Slicer was flagged as having open edges which Prusa Slicer supposedly corrected automatically. But I'd prefer to identify and fix the problems within the MOI3D file before exporting so I'm not relying on the Prusa Slicer fixes.
The open edge problem is the first time Ive encountered it. I suspect the fillets I used are the likely culprit since I ended up using a combination of the default circular fillets followed by several 'const distance' fillets (first time I've used) where the circular fillet option would not work.
I've attached a copy of both the MOI file and the exported STL. I'm using an iMac (intel) with the latest OSX and the latest MOI3D beta version.

Hi Scott, what method are you using to export the STL file, "Save As" or "Export" ?
If I move your piece over there are a couple of stray separate surface objects inside of it, are these possibly also getting written to the STL ?
Also it could make the slicer's job easier if you use the "Divide larger than" mesh setting to dice the triangles up into smaller pieces. That can help to avoid really skinny triangles that span over a large area. Like this:

Export: I typically select the object(s) to export and then use FILE/EXPORT and then choose STL for the file type.
Stray objects: Looks like the 'stray objects' you identified were likely a couple of the fillets that appeared visually to be okay but apparently failed to properly attach. Seems these two strays somehow remained associated with the AZ 3D print bracket when I selected the bracket object for export.
I don't recall seeing any MOI3D failure warnings re these two stray fillets, but again could likely be another user error here. I typically only use the default fillet settings. If you need more details please let me know.
Thank you for the Meshing Options recommendation. I'll definitely pay more attention to the visual going forward and attempt do a better job with the triangles. My expertise selecting the optimum mesh parameters are novice at best. Another area where some additional study seems to be warranted.
