Thanks Michael, I guess I will not be uploading anymore images then. As I really hate to delete past images I've uploaded.
It kind of annoys me whenever I do a search for a topic or "how to" on any forum and I find a thread that was posted a few years ago and the reference images are no longer available despite the topic still being relevant.
This is the first time I have exceeded any limit of the many forums I post to, including photography, automotive, 3d modeling and 2d digital art.
MagicaCSG is only 5 $
Download the current Beta version in Patreon site
And if you abort your patreon registering you will keep your version downloaded!
So more you wait for download Beta better will be your version!
Who is yet very capable! ;)
Substance Modeler will work like a Desktop App
if you like to work in Desktop mode no VR Headset
is needed. But if like to model via VR Headset you
can do that, with the same App so its 150.- euro
one time fee (on steam) for both options together.
MacigaCSG is a bit different in its modeling philosophy
then Substance Modeler, SM offers a few more
Export and import Options.
By the way: If you cancel your Patreon support for MagicaCSG,
you can continue working with the last version you downloaded.
You can reactivate your Patreon support again at any time.
Metin Seven is a great Artist with MagicaCSG
do a google picture search or youtube.
As i mentioned in a Previous post in this Thread
there is a big Thread in Blender Artist Forum about
more less any possible SDF-Modeling option out there.
Womp 3D is an online SDF Modeler, there is a free Version
where only a Account is needed. The free one allows also .obj
export/download.
Here the Womp Link https://www.womp.com/
Thanks, but I am truly not impressed with any of those Blender AddOns after watching the videos on them.
This SDF sounds too gimmicky to me.
I actually purchased a few Blender Addons in the past, ie Fluent, Simply Concept, GridModeler, KitOps, and many more which are mostly collecting dust.
The only AddOn I use a lot is Quad Remesher.
I also do not like any function editor (like e-onsoftware Vue uses) or the procedural tools and nodes in Blender.
I just find them too confusing to use. Perhaps it is because of my age (71) and spending 35+ years as a database programmer and system administrator.
The only new tech (meaning new to me) I tackled in the last 5 years was learning a great NAS operating system basked on Slackware Linux called Unraid.
I am comfortable with Blender, Moi3D, 3D Coat, DAZ Studio and Vue.
I still would love to see a Groboto or Mesh Fusion addon for Blender or MOI3D or 3DCoat.
For other Users here a few things i modeled with MagicaCSG.
As tiny and inconspicuous as MagicaCSG may look, you can do
a lot with it and it has even a pretty good built-in renderer.
Every Picture was rendered in it.
And as already mentioned, everything about these models can
be changed at any time and remains editable at any time.
The Ideas of, Mystic Door, Night Scene and Radio are not mine
but i model everything with MagicaCSG. The Vespa Scooter was
an Idea of mine and one of my first tries with MagicaCSG.
@Pilou, indeed and the Dev will even improve the Renderer
in the next steps.
@KENMO, thank you
Modeling in Magicacsg is a bit more playful than in other 3D editors,
as everything remains editable at any time, so you don't have to
worry about making mistakes.
I've included a link here that leads to the Mastodon page of Ephtracy,
the developer, where he regularly shows new ideas and progress. https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@ephtracy
Here's a fun fact: I thought Rocket 3F free was in the dumps...
I relaunched it out of a clear conscience and miraculously it's back up and running...
The interface where you have everything at your fingertips!
And the save files works! Very SF!
The site and Forum are obviously “down”
I tried Rocket3F after having difficulty learning NVIL. I was told by the developer of Rocket3F (I believe his first name was Andrea?) that Rocket3F was based on Nvil and used the same "engine".
Perhaps Michael could contact him about re-posting his MOI tutorials. They not the typical MOI tutorials with no audio and the intent is only for the artist to show off his modeling skills. Andrei were easy to follow. There is another on youtube his name escapes me (ARIMUS or something along those lines) is a fantastic instructor as well.
I found this post on the Nvil forum where the developer of NVIL states Rocket3F is based on NVIL

Rocket 3F is a special version of Nvil. It is customized in a way that the customizer thinks it is the best organizing base on his modeling knowledge and experience. Basically Rocket is not customizable. So it is only suitable for people who find it easy to adapt to its fixed workflow.

Ironically, it was I who asked the question about NVIL vs Rocket3F.
