Hi Mik,

re:

If there is an already existing style named "Hidden lines", it will use the existing one and won't change the color to white.

So if you wish to avoid getting the white color, set up a style named "HIdden lines" before you run Make2D.

> Is it possible to change this white color to be same as visible lines?

You can change it from white color to some other color but visible lines will inherit the style from the generating object and there is not a way to make hidden lines do that as well because that would pile up both visible lines and hidden lines in the same place.

Hidden lines generated by Make2D just exist in the model same as any other curves, they do not have any special attribute.

Hidden lines generated by 2D drawing construction during PDF/AI/SVG output will make use of the settings in the Line Style Options dialog.

Still not sure if I understand your question though.

Hi Michael,

please apologise my insufficient explanation, I will try to be more descriptive.

This is a standard PDF export dialog, where can be set line styles of any lines:

The result is PDF with dashed hidden lines and thickness/color of visible lines, which correspond to settings in Line Style Option dialog window.

The Make2D script doesn't offer any Line Style Options:

and here is the exported PDF:

... in addition with thick visible lines.

Therefore I use the small white plane "trick" (from forum) selected together with curves generated by Make2D4views command, now the PDF export dialog window offers Line Style options dialog window:

Result of PDF export is here:

It means that trick with small plane can control thickness/color of visible lines generated by Make2D command, but hidden lines generated by same command is not affected by setting in Line Style Options dialog window.

Thank you for your advice regarding creating of new Hidden line style in my template file, where can I set any color.

Mik

It is practically same issue as is posted here:

>Currently a wireframe export will only use a hard coded 1pt line weight but I have set up the "Line style options" for wireframe exporting for the next beta version.

Hi Mik
Are these pdf files close to what you want?

It's possible to use a vector program like "Incscape" to set the line style. ( color, width, dashed lines, opacity, etc )

If you want to achieve the same result inside moi, you can use the "dashCurve" script on the 'hiddenLines' generated by the "Make2D4views" command to get the hidden lines dashed effect.
Change the hidden lines style to a darker color (#999999), so it's easier to see.
Then use a white surface to get the line style options. ( It's better to hide the surface edges )
Although, Changing the line width for different curves and styles is not possible.

Hi Mo,

thank you for your reply.

You are right, that's possible to use vector program like Inscape to set the line style, I personally use Affinity Designer2, but it would be nice to have such possibility inside MoI, especially if such settings - Line Style Options dialog exists already for MoI objects.

I use DashCurve script for Hidden lines too, it works perfect, but for many technical drawings, which I has to do from assembly contained many parts, so every repeatably line settings inside/outside MoI cost some time.

It would be ideal for me after check Generate hidden checkbox, if Make2D4views script would generate dashed hidden lines with color of Style = #000000 in one step, then PDF export with white surface as a background of technical drawings works OK.

MoI PDF export settings works perfectly for objects, therefore I'm sure that next beta allows similar line style settings for visible/hidden curves (wireframes) as Michael posted.
