Hi Jonny, what operating system are you running on?
V4 does use a new font for the UI, somehow that is not working well on your system.
You might try setting v4 to use the same font as v3, you an do that by going to Options > General and press the "Edit .ini file" button.
Inside of moi.ini go to this line in the [UI] section:
UIFontNameV4=Open Sans
And change it to:
UIFontNameV4=Arial

Also it looks like your system has font smoothing turned off, try going to system settings, put in ClearType in the "Find a setting" box, and set the "Turn on ClearType" checkbox so that font anti-aliasing will be enabled.
That should improve the UI text display in both v4 and v3.
