Silo Format
Supported 3D file loading formats are *.sib, *.sia, *.obj, *.3ds, and *.dxf.
Supported 3D file saving formats are *.sib, *.sia, *.obj, *.3ds, *.dxf, *.stl, *.rib, and *.pov.
So you can use OBJ or DXF for import something inside MOi
Must be better if you want make some SUdivision inside Moi to have surface OBJ Object "quadrangulated" !
Then 2 methods : _ImportObj script by Max Smirnov : you can regulate the % of Subdivision 0 to 100
or the native SUbD / Create from File: you will obtain an object subdivided so with rounded forms!
You can also use "obj23dm" for have only the wire obj structure

Hi another simple mesh modeler like Silo maybe checkout this if fit your needed.

I forgot the most important and powerful with modern UI

I don't say Blender because I think you're aware about.

Hi vespanut,

It depends on how the models were constructed in the poly modeling program.
If they are sub-d smoothed models, then those can be converted into MoI by exporting the sub-d control cage to .obj format and then using the Sub-D converter in MoI under SubD > Create > "From file" which will generate a smooth surface in MoI out of the Sub-d control cage.
If the models were not done using sub-d smoothing in the poly modeling program then that type of data is generally not suitable for conversion into CAD surfaces and solids automatically.

PS and Rocket3D is free (or Pro) & has a direct Bridge to Moi in the 2 Ways! ;)
Rocket <---> Moi3D By ShortCut or pressing an icon !)
In Rocket3F

(Pont = Bridge in French ;)
In Moi3D
