< At least now there is some method to bring polygon data in.
Why the planar function works for some lines in the same time (the squares are "separated" before) or even there are open surface (on the up left side)
and don't works for the big object? (file 3dm linked) Works only if I take manually the edges! (as shown in my previous post)

Hi Pilou, Planar is not set up to analyze curve structures that have more than two curves sharing the same endpoint.

In the case that you show with the separate lines, that is arranged so that each endpoint is only connected to one other endpoint. Planar is set up to track outlines connected like this.

When you have more than one endpoint shared, Planar may try to trace an outline like this:

So for example if it took that path above, it would not make a closed loop, so no surface will be generated there.

It would take quite a lot of extra programming work to make Planar be able to properly analyze branched structures like this.

Hi Wim, there is not currently a packaged up version of this for the Mac, but you can get the Windows version of it running on your Mac by using some of the same infrastructure that's contained within the MoI app.

See here for some instructions - let me know if you need more detailed information on how to get it running:

Hi Michael,

Happy new year to you and your family. I was going to say I hope you took some time out for yourself, but it appears you've been playing Santa :-)

This is a great tool, it will save quite a bit of time. I've tried some big files and so far, no crashes.

Warmest Regards
charles
