Hi Larry - it is possible to have individual point objects, but they are mostly set up as markers that you can place to snap back to later on, not really intended to be used in large quantities as point clouds.

I'd guess you'd use point clouds for reconstructing surfaces from scanned data, like some kind of reverse engineering type work?

I'm sorry but reverse engineering just isn't really a big planned target area for MoI.

It may be possible to add some stuff in this area in future versions, but it will probably be quite a while before I'll have time to work it. Other tools like Rhino will be better for that kind of processing.
