New to Moi with the Aug 1 build.

Constructing an SLR body. Used a three curve vertical loft to construct the bulk and an extrude of the bottom curve to form the base plate, both objects should be perfectly aligned but I cannot get them to join by selecting both and using join, nor join then selecting both. Am I doing something wrong? TIA
