Announcement: MoI Community - Custom Ivor Challenge

Dear MoI Community,

while browsing the MoI Gallery i saw a couple of nicely made
organic looking models made with MoI, like the two kid models
and other nice ones. I thought why not having a community
challenge, with a provided organic model, were every MoI user,
regardless of skill level could participate, even if MoI's focus
is hard surface NURBS modeling and not organic poly modeling.

Looking on my hard drive i found the cute subd Ivor model, from
professional Artist Glen Southern (http://southerngfx.co.uk), which
he provided to the Silo community challenge some years ago and it was
also used in a challenge at the NURBS & Poly community, shortly after.

So i contacted Glen a couple of days ago and he gave me permission
to use the NURBS Ivor for a challenge. I also asked Michael and he gave
his o.k. too.

So here it is: The Moi Community - Custom Ivor Challenge! :-)

The idea: To customize the little Ivor, with clothing, accessories
like a hat or helmet etc. For example a gardner with a hat and his
fork, a scuba diver, sportsman etc., whatever you can imagine.

The rules:

Modeling, like detailing, customizing or adding accessories should
be 100 percent done with MoI. Texturing your final MoI model with a
3D Painting Application and rendering your model is fine, but not
mandatory.

Please use the provided original Photoshop template from Glen, so
that we have consistency in the Gallery thread. Users not having
Photoshop can use the free GIMP software (https://www.gimp.org),
which loads the .psd template just fine.

Timeframe:

There is no timeframe set. Users who see this thread and like to
participate can do so whenever they have time. Feel free to post
as many entries as you like.

Prices:

Sorry - no, there are actually no prices to win because this is a
challenge and not a competition.

I hope you like the idea of this little challenge! As for me i am
very curious about your Custom Ivor and with what facial expressions
you come up with, like happy, sad, angry and so on. As a start for the
gallery thread i will add a little boy Ivor, so that you can see my first
humble approach. :-)

Maybe this little challenge leads to fruitful discussion of how users
tackle certain modeling tasks, when dealing with an organic NURBS model.

Happy modeling,
Stefan

P.S. attached is also a screenshot from the orignal Ivor model with
it's texture map template, so that you can see how the original model
from Glen looked like.
