Hi aivo, unfortunately that would probably be pretty difficult to script, especially if the points are not quite 100% exactly on the lines or surfaces. You might try searching for some "Reverse engineering" type software which is more likely to have those kinds of functions built into it. Or also search for software that is focused on handling "point clouds", like maybe Geomagic: http://www.geomagic.com/en/community/videos/geomagic-studio-12-exact-surfaces/

MoI itself is heavily focused on drawing objects and not at all on processing point clouds into objects and does not really have any functions for doing that stuff itself.
