Sorry no, there's not any way currently set up to do that. Usually you would just make a window selection to grab the set of curves you need.

A couple of problems with a path selection mechanism like you are describing is that it would need to search through all curves in the model which is potentially time consuming on a heavy model and also if there are branches in the path that adds another thing it would need to deal with.
