Michael:
I noticed today that if I have a particular closed curve with too many points, when I extrude it it does not form a solid but instead is a joined srf. After rebuilding it, it then extrudes properly. It fooled me for a while messing up boolean operations until I happened to notice it was not a solid.

Is there a rule of thumb here or is it just a good idea to rebuild curves?
