Have you tried copying and pasteing the desired geometry in the same model file, deleting all the undesired geometry then do a save as to a new file name?

Also, try selecting desired geometry and exporting it.

Another method I am about to try is I have MoI3D on my laptop and a thumb drive. I am going to see if I can run two sessions at the same time. I'll then try copying/pasteing and even drag and drop.

Let me know if those aforementioned methods work for you, and I'll get back to you regarding the dual sessions.
