Everything starts from a sketch or a picture I have in my mind, following some common photography composition rules.
I usually start by setting up the lighting mood on a completely white material.
In the last picture, the main light is given by a simple daylight system, plus some artificial lights.
About materials, I find extremely important to look for the correct amount of saturation.
A picture must have two types of contrast:
- lighting contrast between different parts of the image, it helps getting the correct amount of depth and highlighting the volumes;
- color contrast, for instance using complementary colors.
