It's hard to tell just looking at a screenshot - like Brian writes above please post your 3DM model file as well and that would make it possible to know for example if you are trying to export control points there or "point objects" which is what SavePointFile would be trying to use.

If you have curve control points turned on and you want to export those, you will have to convert them into point objects first, which you can do by selecting the control points and then using Ctrl+C copy and then Ctrl+V paste.
