My WD March 2013 hard drive, 1Tb WD blue, quit working, and a lot of information is lost, with inadequate backup :-(
The computer had been running "slow" for a couple of months.
Currently uploading 200+ Windows 7 upgrades to 2Tb WD Black drive.
The bad drive is recognized by Bios, and initially by Windows7, but not by Windows7 anymore.
I'll try Ubuntu hard disk utilities, to see if anything can be salvaged, if I can figure out how Ubuntu works.
Put in a USB3 card for more backup speed, still limited by 2009 motherboard.
Bought a backup drive at Costco. Bought a Samsung SSD 850 PRO 250GB, to try out also.
