Hi Don, thanks very much for spreading the word about the new Illustrator / PDF drawing output!

That's probably one of the most interesting new features in MoI v3 since it opens up a new avenue of data flow for making illustrations. Combined with MoI's low cost and general focus on trying to be easy to use it should help MoI be a lot more useful as a companion tool for 2D illustrators.

Also it has some unique things in the export - you can get a hybrid mix of both shaded rendered background and also vectors on top of that, and also as mentioned in that other thread it's very typical for CAD program PDF export to only export a dense set of little line segments as the vectors rather than actually exporting smooth curves which MoI's new exporter will do. Having smooth curves helps keep the output to be more useful for various types of additional editing.

re: Named views - unfortunately there isn't really any proper saved named view mechanism available right now, there is the script that's mentioned above but I don't think those views will persist with an individual model file between sessions so it's probably not quite there. I would like to add a proper named view mechanism in the future.
