Put Back Command

Thanks to the help of users on this forum I'm getting better and doing things such as "repairing" objects like erasing holes etc. One command that I wish I had (and maybe there's an easy way to do this already) is a Put Back.

I find myself moving face(s) away from the rest of the object to work on it and to work on the underlying structure and then moving them back to rejoin. I use a lot of alignment to get everything back the way it was. (and perhaps there's a better way that makes this command moot)

What I'd like to do is to be able to execute a command to push the object position on a stack and then when I'm done with it, pop the stack to put it back. I say stack here though technically it really only has to be one position deep.

I'm was going to write such a script but wanted to check first if there's something already that does this before I do.

Thanks
