Modeling patterns, moldings, wood carving

Hi emae, that style of modeling tends to be difficult and tends to require an advanced level of modeling proficiency.

Sorry right now I don't know of any tutorials that go into detail about how to create those types of designs. The main tool to use though is Construct > Sweep, and you will need to break the design into many smaller elements rather than trying to construct the whole thing from one single outline for example.

Here's an example of one single element done with sweep:

This general type of raised relief design can be more easily done in a "2 and a half D" type program like ArtCAM which is heavily focused just on doing raised patterns instead of on full 3D object construction like MoI is.

Also another different approach is to use a program called ZSurf which can make a surface that has raised and lowered areas that follow the brightness in a bitmap image. There's some information on that here:

Some people like to do the scrollwork as full 3D shapes though, you do get a nice crispness to the shaping that way. But since it requires an advanced level of proficiency it's not all that easy to get started in it, the first place to go to try and build up your initial proficiency is to go over the regular intro tutorials here:

It could also be easier to give you more feedback if your question was a little bit more focused on one particular element of those designs rather than looking for a full tutorial on a complex subject like that.
