Very excited about upcoming v3.

I have a v1 license and have been away for a while. I would like to know if we'll be able to upgrade from to v1 to v3? If so, what will the price be to upgrade two levels? Alternatively, would it be better to upgrade to v2 now and then again to v3 when released?
