0.003" is a bit too fine the 3d printing process it isn't that accurate yet, the gears I had to leave a 0.008" (0.2mm) gap and the spindles after the first attempt being fused to the body I had to increase the hole diameter to have a 0.030" (0.75mm) clearance overall, that's 0.015" (0.38mm) per side.
