Lots of questions the last days from my side :-)

I want to trim a revolve object using a curve -
do all the points of this curve need to be positioned
on a common plane ?

Does a trim using a curve always cut through the whole
object or is it possible to cut only through the fornt side
of an object - in this case a revolve object ?
