Hello everyone, another newbie thread, so bear with me; it's my first post (actually second) here, although I've "been around" lurking for a few days.
I have known about MoI for quite some time now, but never actually got to try it, I mentioned it to Metin Seven a few days ago, and after his enthusiastic and positive feedback I decided I had to try it too. I haven't really produced anything with MoI yet, but I plan to start playing with it more now, because I have been working on a UI translation.
Any Portuguese speaking or Brazilian users out there? If Michael so desires, there should now be a fully translated Portuguese UI up for future releases.
I must say I am really impressed by its simplicity, speed, and ease of use, the snapping and modeling mechanics reminds me of Sketchup (which I actually hate) but in a good way, and the HTML based UI is great for customization. The shear fact that it can be made portable for carrying in your USB drive just made me surrender to it. :)
And now the usual newbie questions, I was gonna ask about some instancing/cloning/blocks feature but I already know that it is planed but not for any near future versions.
I see that in the preferences dialog you can configure custom shortcut keys for many actions so my questions are
1 - Does this interface support assigning custom actions to mouse buttons? Could I assigning something like Shift + Middle Mouse Button to rotate the 3D view through there?
2 - If so what is the name of the key I should put for Middle Mouse Button?
3 - If not, is there any other way of setting custom actions like described above to mouse buttons?
4 - I already know about Petrov's page
http://kyticka.webzdarma.cz/3d/moi/ with custom scripts and commands, but is there any full listing or glossary of all MoI Commands/Scripts that can be assigned to these Shortcut key bindings anywhere?
I was also going to ask if there is a way to rotate the view or orbit out of the ortho (top/botom/left/right/front/back) views back the 3D View directly without having to first press a button, but I figured it out, I'll leave them in another post.
