Hi milkywaif, probably a more efficient way is to draw a line for the axis of your truncated cone, then use the Pipe2 plug-in command from here:

Select the axis line, run Pipe2, and enable the "Tapered" checkbox, then you can enter in your bottom radius (the bottom will be taken as the end closest to which you clicked on when you picked the path curve) in the first "Outer radius" field, and your top radius in the "Outer radius 2" field, like this:
That way you'll only have one line to deal with. The line will be selected after you do the pipe so just hit delete right after that to get rid of it.
