Dear Michael & MoI fellow users,
I saw many of you using snapshots or YouTube videos to showcase your 3D creations. Have you heard of Sketchfab ? I think this is the alternative to endless pictures or non-interractive videos.
Embedding a model on MoI is really easy. Go to a model's page on sketchfab
Like this one:
https://sketchfab.com/show/z9MJsWZH8fgik3UMr7KKCV4yTXP
Find the share link on the footer of the model. Mouse over the share link and click on EMBED. Now you simply copy and paste the 1st of the 3 codes at the top (beginning with iframe) into MoI page.
You'll get this:
Now, to be able to embed your own 3D creations, you'll need to create an account on sketchfab.com and upload the models you wish to display first. Basic accounts are free, and offer the following exciting features:
• Unlimited uploads of models below 50MB then share and embed
• Support for all regular materials, shaders, textures and transparency, as well as normal, specular, diffuse and bump maps
• Support for 27 native 3D formats
• Plugins to publish directly from all the major 3D packages (3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Zbrush including of course MODO and more here at
https://sketchfab.com/exporters)
• Support for large models (currently models above 5 million polys)
• HDR environments for image-based lighting and reflection
• And many more features
What do you think of this ? More convenient ? :)
